The River

BRISTOL OLD VIC THEATRE SCHOOL | The Wardrobe Theatre

Directed by Jon-Luke Goodman
Written by Jez Butterworth

★★★★ "a pervading sense of uncertainty is sustained, and there are very real strengths in the performances" - Stagetalk Magazine

★★★★ "it will be hard to top The River for its accomplished work " - Life As Theatre

On a moonless night, when the silver trout run, a keen fly fisher escapes to a cabin to reach a new depth of connection with his partner. But the river reflects back at characters their innermost desires and perhaps not all is as it seems…

“It’s my tragedy in life that if I want to get a man to notice me, first I have to put on big rubber waders.”
