At 5am every night Jessica is woken up by knocking, her dreams are filled with dead birds covering the ground, the PIP application process hangs about her neck like a millstone and she really just wants to know just what the f**k is going on?!

The Benefits of Being Haunted follows Jessica, a woman with a hidden disability navigating the PIP application process while also being haunted. Governmental support for disabled people is continually failing thousands and is politicised and weaponised in manifestos and policies. How are people expected to navigate a process they may not even understand? How has every day survival for those most vulnerable become bogged down in mountains of inaccessible and overwhelming paperwork and forms? And when did seeking support become a fight to prove your very existence?
